Applications/ Demo Chemist

SUMMARY

GC, GCMS, GCMSMS and LCMS Demo/ Application Chemist will conduct customer demos both live and remote.  Will be required to conduct customer training in office and on site.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Conduct customer demonstrations for Bruker products and key features.
  • Analyze samples submitted by prospective customers and present results live or via WebEx.
  • Work with R&D to improve products and functionality
  • Develop application notes in new and developing area.
  • Present at national and international scientific conferences and meetings.
  • Work with sales in the field to promote sale of Bruker systems.
  • Work with Product management to assist in training internal personnel.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, demos and publications.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, related area.  Prefer masters or PhD degree.    Prefer 5 year’ sales experience in related industry, with demonstrated success, required.  Prefer experience as demo chemist or recent industry experience in key growth markets.

 

Computer Skills                            

  • Essential to have experience with contact management database software and MS Office.
  • Must be able to learn new and demonstrate Bruker software packages

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and be able to maintain valid travel documents, licenses and registrations.

Other Skills and Abilities                     

  • Direct, hands-on experience with GCMS or LCMS required.
  • Excellent communication skills needed to work with a wide variety of knowledge levels with customers of differing backgrounds, cultures, and within our Bruker division (management, service, and applications support).
  • Excellent presentation skills, interpersonal communication skills, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to decide priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.

Other Qualifications                

  • Must have flexibility, ability to prioritize and manage differing time constraints.
  • In-depth industry and territory knowledge are essential.
  • Self-motivation is essential as is a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.
  • Must be willing to travel when required.
